Fortune 500 and Start-Up Experience
Brian started his career with the Fortune 500 company Leggett & Platt, handling sales for the Southern CA region. Over four years, Brian grew the sales territory by 15% each year, despite the dot-com recession. After four years, Brian took over supply chain management for the $50M division, handling all the Asian and European manufacturing partners. Through a strengthening of partnerships, Brian drove down domestic inventory by 20% by building Just-In-Time solutions and increased forecasting accuracy. Brian also successfully earned his Juris Doctor of Law Degree, giving him the formal legal education to help him navigate the business world.
After a successful career with Legget & Platt, Brian went to work for an EdTech startup. Stepping into the Director of Operations role, Brian helped the company scale from a few employees to 150 full-time employees ranging from sales to customer service. Over the four years, Brian helped the company grow from under $10M in annual sales to $100M in annual sales.
Successful Business Owner
After closing this chapter, Brian started his own consulting business, specializing in HR Management and Payroll. While growing this business, Brian engaged companies needing a fractional Chief Operating Officer. His engagements have included an infrared sauna manufacturer, a seafood processing company, and an audit and risk management consultancy practice. The infrared sauna company needed support transitioning the entire office team from in-office to 100% remote without interrupting sales and customer service, plus they needed a plan to keep the distribution warehouse functioning during the Covid crisis.
Through Brian’s leadership, the infrared sauna company survived the COVID experience and grew topline sales by 33%. The seafood processing company needed to transition from manual seafood processing to automation. The rollout of automated processing equipment allowed the company to increase output by 29% within the same eight-hour period. The audit and risk consultancy practice needs to improve revenue by employees and reduce the labor rate by 74% This firm’s labor rate is now at 48% and revenue by the employee has increased by 32%.
